Week 5 blog

Things are still tough a bit, especially the readings.  I don’t know how do others find this anyway, this is my view. The studying and working at the same time is a good one, I really appreciate it. Thanks Stha and the team. Coming to family life is worse especially because I only see them on weekends, there’s no understanding. They feel left out, especially when I had to go through my readings.

 Thanks for helping me team, I really appreciate your thought.

         VIDEO WATCHING

 Having watched the videos in you-tube, helped me a lot when I had to go through my readings and broaden my understanding on the two theories.

 Using multimedia in learning is very effective in most of the time. This helps teachers a lot when explaining or elaborating in class. Watching videos caters for all learners and promote understanding as they often provide meaningful information. Therefore teachers need to be encouraged to use multimedia in their classes for effective learning. 

At school there are videos that are provided by National Geographics and CD’s that are coming from Soul Buddyz from Soul City so I let my learners to watch them in Life Orientation lessons. After that, learners are the ones who explains what they have learned.  The thing is only relevant and planned for videos must be used because this might disturb learners in class.

For an example; learners learn better and remember easily when they are watching rather than when they are told. Facebook, twitter or mxit has convinced me to prove that learners interact much with friends and learn better from internet.

I am sorry but this just happenned. It was on the 29th February and I was suppose to do a presentation in class. While others were  presenting, I could feel that my presentation was not alligned to what we were asked for. Mm... it was my turn to present, my slides were nicely designed but containing wrong information. You know if marks were allocated according to slides designs, I was going to get higher rmarks.

Unfortunately, I reported this feelings before I could present. My lecturer asked me to please try as she wants to see what I have prepared. Immediately when it flashes, she stood up and came to me saying these shows misunderstanding its better if I prepare again and present next week in class.

I couldn't hold myself, tears were falling around my cheeks. When I asked myself why this is happening to me, I noticed that is the 29th of Feb ( a leap year) which we will only get it in 2016. So don't be supprised if such things are happening in life, they happen for a reason.

I find accessing online computer course demanding within time management.  It needs one to have relevant skills in order to work online.

Yes they are, time is crucial and speed counts when one needs to type.  Checking  spellings  and submit  assignments on time.  Mine is even worse as I am travelling to Rustenburg each week to check my family. Despite that teacher’s salary is too little, online materials such as laptops and data bundles are too expensive.  Teachers are also overloaded with work in schools and thus create an impact in my online education setting.
